Far Cry 2 Patch addresses Player Complaints

The faultering economy may be forcing publishers to downsize and driving creative titles out of development, but there may be a faint silver lining around the dark galeforce clouds hanging over the industry. Developers seem to really be listening to fans this year, hoping to appease their wishes and keep them playing, buying, and talking up their games.

Criterion’s been at it for a while but last week’s free Burnout Paradise update (and $10 Party Pack) really expanded the game and added features players have been waiting a year for. Spreading some goodwill of their own, Ubisoft just announced that a free update for all versions of Far Cry 2 will be released soon that addresses some nagging complaints about the game’s multiplayer mode.

Weapons are being rebalanced, players can now adjust spawn times, and a new “hardcore” difficulty is being added to make matches more grueling, fast-paced, and realistic. If only they’d tweak the single player game to make it a bit less grueling I might actually be able to finish it.
